1970’s Boudoir

This concept was inspired by my studio. It is a 1971 1 bedroom mobile home that came with our house when we bought it. It took us a long time to decide what to do with it and we almost gave it away when we first moved here, but I am so glad that we didn’t. That little trailer has turned out to be a real gem.

My first idea was to to turn it into an AirBnb. I wanted to make it 1970’s to create an experience instead of just a place to sleep. Everyone loved the idea, except my husband who didn’t want strangers in our backyard day in and day out.

When things came to an end at my previous studio, the trailer was my only option. I cried for days over having to give up my big, beautiful industrial space and move into a shitty trailer with holes in the walls and a leaking roof. I couldn’t find anywhere else to rent and, after being completely screwed over by my landlord, I wasn’t willing to rent from anyone ever again. So, my husband and I worked day in and day out for a little over a month and completely remodeled the whole thing. The inside turned out so super cute, but the outside still looked horrible.

I took this photo inside my trailer!

I decided to embrace the trailer. It’s a mobile home. We can’t hide that. Why bother? Let’s just roll with it… I wanted flamingos and string lights and neon signs like the trailer park manager who gets to live there for free and collect everyone’s rent.

I spent a week on this painstaking design, but it was 1000% worth the effort.

So, for a limited time only, I’m offering 1970’s trailer boudoir. Example photos coming soon.
