What to Expect After Booking

Not all photography experiences are created equal.

Many potential clients assume that my boudoir photography business works the same way that their “family photographer” works. You pay her money, you meet up, she takes some pics and then you get all the digitals and never do anything with them.

Your experience with me will be quite different. The most important reason for this is that I take your self image very seriously. Yes, I take photos, but my job is to showcase your unique physical beauty and personality. I need to take time to get to know you, find out what you are proud of, what you are feeling insecure about and get a feel for your vibe. I can’t do that by booking you via a few Facebook messages and showing up in a field a couple weeks later.

So, without further adieu, the Alchemy Babes process….

The first step is a phone call.

On that phone call I will explain the entire process to you, go over the contract, book your planning session and take your retainer payment. You cannot book a planning session without a retainer payment and the retainer is due at the time of the call, so you need to have your payment method ready to go.

You are not considered booked until you have paid the retainer and scheduled your planning session.

At the time of booking, you will receive an email with links to product pricing, pre-payment & bonus info, a boudoir session prep guide written by yours truly and detailed directions to the studio.

During your planning session, which takes about an hour, you will get to see the studio, brows the client closet & we will plan out every detail of your shoot, including the shoot date & time. You will also get to see product examples and I will go over what each product is and how the collections and pre-payments work.

Between your planning session and shoot date, you will receive a string of emails with tips & reminders to help you prepare for your session. If you come up with any new ideas or outfits, I encourage you to send those over to me during this time for feedback.

About two weeks before your shoot you will have the opportunity to schedule another phone call to go over all of the details one more time. This is not a required call, but if you need it, the opportunity is there.

On the day of your session, we will start with hair and makeup around 10 am. At about 11:30 am we will move on to your shoot, which will last about an hour. After your shoot, you will have around 20 minutes to pack up your things, tone down your makeup if needed and grab a drink and a snack while I get your images ready for you to view.

You will get to see your photos that same day and, you can choose which photos go with which products as well. We are usually wrapping everything up by 2pm.

Retouching is included with your session fee, but the gallery you see the day of your shoot will only have a quick edit. The more extensive retouching will be done within the next two weeks. You will receive a retouched proofing gallery before any products are ordered at that time.

Typically you will receive a link to review & download your retouched gallery within 2 weeks & most products are available for pickup within 6 weeks.

At certain times of the year, retouching may take up to 4 weeks and products can take up to 12 weeks. It depends on how busy the studio is, demand at the print lab & the supply chain.
